Here are the men who have rattled Rose's chain over the years. Although some of them are not strictly Goth icons, they all have a certain darkness about them which is very appealing (if you are that way inclined).
Rutger Huere in Bladerunner Brandon Lee in The Crow
The Legend that is Alice Cooper
Oliver Tobias in Luke's Kingdom (For those of you old enough to remember)
The Gorgeous Spike.
Forget Kevin Costner.... Michael Praed was the only really convincing Robin Hood.
Johnny Depp in anything (or in nothing at all) but particularly as Captain Jack Sparrow.
Hugh Jackman as Van Helsing
Alan Rickman as Professor Snape and particularly as The sheriff of Nottingham Forget Kevin Costnor (yet again)..... In the fight sceen at the end of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Rose was cheering for the Sheriff....
OK so we have dissed Kevin Costnor long enough.... despite the critics slating it.... Rose loves the movie Waterworld and has to admit she thought Kevin was rather nice in this one.
And last but by no means least.....
And thene there is Mel Gibson's darkest hour as Mad Max.
So now Rose has revealed the secets held in her dark heart.........
Here is the first of our customer suggestions. The darkly delicious Wesley Snipes In Blade
Stuart Townsend in Queen of the Damned. Thanks Becky
Wednesday 13
Micheal Keaton as Batman
and of course Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Thanks again Cid
It had to happen sooner or later.... Rose was dreading this moment. But someone has finally suggested Robert Smith..... The poor lad hasn't aged well and blokes that look like Jo Brand don't do it for Rose. Fortunately she does remember when he was very young and very cute so he has slipped in on a nostalgic basis
Shame on us....We almost forgot Dave Vanian from the Damned
While we are on a nostalgia trip.... There is always The Cult. Thanks Trace
The latest encumbent of the bat suite - Christian Bale with more bats than you can shake a bloody stake at - Thanks Billie-Jo
Here is the dark and demonic Dani from Cradle of Filth. Thanks Lucy.
Here is Lauri Ylonen and his band mates from The Rasmus. Lauri is much lusted after by Sharyn, Vicky & Baby Annabelle
Another glaring ommision on our part - Ozzy The one and only Prince of Darkness
Here is Draco Malfoy from the the Harry Potter films suggested by Eileen, who is obviously another lady with a liking for the bad guy.
Here is Keifer Sutherland sugested by a fellow Lost Boys fan. Thanks Karen
Vill Valo from the band Him. suggested by Alia
This the strange but scrummy Gary Oldman. Suggested by Claire.
Here is David Boreanaz (AKA Angel) from his early days in Buffy. Thanks Hannah
Here is Gerard way from My Chemical Romance from his younger more Gothy days.... Added especialy for Jacqui & Nat.... See Jacqui.... you do like Goths after all. Then there is a whole host of dark and desirable young men suggested by Sarah Day
Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso and Paavo Lötjönen (Apocalyptica)
Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom)
Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish)
Oliver Goodwill - the nice lad featured recently in an Evanecence video
Here is Wes Bently Star of many movies including Ghost Rider and American Beauty. Thanks Karen
We had never thought of David Bowie as a Goth before, more the king/(errr Queen!) of Glam Rock...... but Sarah D was so upset at his ommision that we felt we just had to include him here in one of his darker rolls as Jareth in the brilliant film Labyrinth. Showing us that if he had decided to be a Goth, he would have been a damn fine one. (a bit too sparkly for our liking but each to his/ her own) We can however forgive him anything for producing some of the best music to come out of the 1970's including the legendary Hunky Dory album...... listen to "Oh you pretty things" it could have been specially written for Goths.
Sam asked us to add Lucien from underworld......... Rose said that didn't usually allow dogs on her Goth Geezers Page but .... she would make an exception in his case...
Dawn emailed us to suggest Daniel Ash in particular and of course not forgetting Pete Murphy......
and Bauhaus in general. For those of you who are too young to remember Bauhaus......... Go to your local record shop and demand a copy of "Bela Lugosi's Dead".
Faye sent this picture of the very muscular Peter Steele from Type O Negative. If he works out in the gym much more, he'll stretch his nice tattoos all out of shape.
Then there is Johnny Cash.
And while we are being controversial what about Lawrence LLewlyn-Bowen.... Rose seems keen to squeeze him onto this page as a borderline Goth as she is very fond of a bit of interior decoration. Shame about the wallpaper.... but at least it is purple.
OK so lets get even more controversial and go for Oscar Wilde...... Bazz considers him to be the original Goth.
Then there is Bela Lugosi himself.... it don't get any more Goth than that.
But then you need Boris Karlof
And Cristopher Lee
Not to Mention Peter Cushing
And most controversial off all is David Barrowman.... Not very Goth at all - But Charli insisted and we couldn't disapoint her after sending us such a nice email. Cheers Charli.
And here is Rose's current favorite. Arjen Lucassen. That's your lot for now, but keep those photos and sugestions coming in.
Where Would You Like To Go Next Do not under any circumstances click on the button below..... No, really... We mean it...... You may think we are just saying that to get you to press it anyway.... but we are not joking here..... Just don't go there....... And if you do, don't come running to us for help..... and don't expect us to clean up the mess either. |
